Yes, i am use shapes to buil up Fenrir, normaly also like this, like you buil car or any things, we also can use shapes, not only use (exshoot) becoming a model.
Like that will waste time and waste polygon. ^^
You Try slowly buil up Fenrir abit things like, tyer, engine or anythings, like the real Bike also part shapes by shapes. Use your free time to do, im also slowly to do.
First is confidence, second is take pains.
Then your Fenrir is come out^^
